Oliver/White 4WD tie rod ends

There is some slop in the tie rod ends of my 4WD 2-70. From the parts diagram it looks like they have replaceable bushings pressed in. Do the studs that pass through the tie rod ends come off easily? Just wondering before I start pounding them too hard and regret it. Thanks!

The bushing you will need is a GEZ 012 ES. You will be able to find several places online that offer them, you should be able to get them for around $20 each. Yes, they are metric, and so are the bolts that go through them, as well as the threads on the tie rods/cylinder rams.....ask me how I know this.

Assuming yours has the grease fitting on the tie rod end itself, then you're just looking at a hardened shoulder bolt going through everything. If you have play, then the bolt may already be worn out too, so just knock it out. If you bugger it up, go to Fastenal and get some new METRIC allen head shoulder bolts and lock nut of the correct size and you're good to go.

Older style Olivers had a grease fitting going through the bolt, but that was changed later, and your 2-70 should just be a solid bolt.

will this also apply to a 1755 fwa. one of mine is really loose and the other already fell out. just making sure because we have
talked to a dealer that usually handles oliver stuff but they say these tie rod bolts are discontinued.

Yep. One thing you'll need to check is if your 1755 had a grease fitting in the bolt or on the tie rod end itself, because you need a way to grease the bushing. If your bushing has fallen out, then it may have wobbled out the tie rod end and a new bushing still might not help. I had one this way. Welded the edge of the hole up, bought the correct metric drill bit and re-drilled the bushing hole in the drill press, works fine.

On the bolt front, I bought a couple of different lengths to try until I found the right length. My extras are at the farm, so I don't have the measurements handy or I would post.
