Holley Distributor

Replaced the Holley distributor that was giving me trouble with another Holley, a good one and now the 1550 is running fine again.What usually goes wrong with the Holley? What does it take to get it back to working condition?I'm going to tear into it this Winter on a snowy or rainy day and want to know what to look for while I'm looking at the parts.

The plate where the points are located on will wear and they will not stay in adjustment. In the busy season we took a few of them and bolted the plate solid thus eliminating the vacuum advance. It is only for idle purposes anyway.

Be sure to check any bushings in the distributor. Worn bushings will let the shaft wobble and cause firing problems.
