Bear Creek Majors
Member
Hi guys, this is my first Oliver. My normal bad habits are the Fordson Majors but I stumbled across this 1650 the other day with a rod hanging out the side and I remembered that my cousin had an extra 1600 motor with a fresh crank and a cracked head so I now have some green stuff in my shop and a few questions.
Am I correct to assume the rods are interchangeable?
I'm assuming the engine in it is the 265 Wakesha (gas), but I'm starting to think It may not be the original one. The sleeves are the 3 3/4 bore but it has the early style crank seals (although I don't know when they changed), and it has no tac drive on the block and what I'm going to call a partial bypass oil filter system. The 1600 block I plan on using has the new style crank seals , the tac drive and the full pass oil filter set up.
if I'm reading the tag on the tractor correctly I'm thinking its a late 65'
265-1139
167 359-456
Any help is greatly appreciated, and I'm sure I'll have a few more questions before we're done.
Thanks.
Pat
