310 Engine Specs

Dad and I were mulling over an idea for a project but I need to know some information first. On a naturally aspirated 310 what would be gross engine horsepower and flywheel horsepower of the engine itself not the PTO horsepower. Also I would only need the engine to run at 2150 rpm to match the speed of the engine we are replacing, im assuming that is going to make a slight difference.

Well I read this the other day. Let me ask how much horsepower do you need? Are you going to set the fuel delivery of the injection pump the same and just turn the RPM down? I do remember some literature I have where for the new 1800 B series engine the gas engine developed 98 gross horse power at 2200 RPM. I would say since a 1750 gas was the same basic engine and a 1750 diesel was close to that your diesel would be between 95-105 horse power @2150.

That was my plan was to just have the pump reset to match RPM. Its going to be replacing a 251 Chrysler in a 525 combine if we can come up with all the parts and the book says that engine is 80 horse so anything over that is just gravy.
