Oliver Super 77 brake problem

Early this spring I started my Super 77 and when I tried to move it the left brake was stuck. I left it alone until a few days ago and the brake is still stuck [imagine that] and now I am going to try to take the brake cover off and try to free it. Is there anything I should know about these brakes before I tear into it? Any help and suggestions will be appreciated. Happy Farming.

2underage,
I'll try to give you answer on the disc brake sticking. On my super 77 I had same problem. Theres are 3 tention springs attached too disc actuators. The springs over a period of time get stretched from heat and use. Once you get the outer plate off you can see the assembly. There are (3) 7/8 balls in between the actuators. At the bottom of the brake assembley (underneath) there a thread bolt on a clevis that hooked up to the actuator assembly. Too remove the whole assmembly just loosen the two nuts at the bottom of the bolt. one nut used as a jam nut other to adjust the brakes with.
Once you have the assembly pulled out then you can check the condition of springs and the surfaces of the plates. Possible your brakes maybe worn out and sometimes it pulls the yoke links past center and can't return to neutral position.
Springs don't cost that much last time I bought some was under 4.00 a peice. As far as brakes being worn if there down to the rivets they need changed.

It's not that bad of a job to do. First time over takes the longest. Maybe someone will give u a better way of doing the brakes as I mentioned? take Care. Mike

Here some what the springs look like and a good place to order them they will also have disc brakes and other parts for the olivers.
Here in Michigan it's getting harder to find a place that carries Oliver parts anymore. Good luck on your Super 77.
