Perkins in a 1755

What does it take to put a Perkins from a 2-105 into a 1755, or 1855, 1955 for that matter? I hear and read a lot about putting cummins engines in them, but don't hear much about putting a Perkins in, basically creating a green 2-105?

Curious on any of you that have done it and what does it take to do so.

I have not personally done this but it should be fairly easy. Even when doing the Cummins conversion you need an 1850 tub so that is definitely what you need here since you will be using an 1850 engine anyway. You will probably have to do some cobbling to use your 55 series sheet metal but it shouldn't be too difficult. Is the 310 in your 1755 beyond repair? I would rather have a properly built 310 in a 1755 than a Perkins but that is just me.
 
I put one in an 1850 out of a 105, fairly easy to do, air cleaner is biggest challenge, I also put fuel tank fenders on it also. Oil cooler also is different, I put a air to oil cooler on it between the fan and radiator. The turbo really peps then up, I can pull a 7 shank disc chisel in 4th gear all day never goes over 190°, let me know if you need any thing putting one in.

I have asked about putting a Perkins in my 1855. I have been told to use the White 105 tub and bell housing. I got a Perkins out of a sprayer with 1400 hours. The Perkins is supposed to be a fairly easy conversion. The Cummins is supposedly a more difficult conversion and can get pretty expensive from what I have heard. I have a 1850 Cockshutt with the Perkins and I love that engine.
