Oliver Superior grain drill

What happened to the Oliver Superior grain drill? Did some other company buy the patent and manufacture drills? Are the Tye or UFT drills built around the Oliver Superior patent? How many 76 drills were produced and during what years? Did White sell that patent off like with the hay and forage equipment?

The old Oliver Superior drills were made in Springfield, OH in Oliver's plant there.   Later production was assigned to Oliver's South Bend plant.

The model 76 drill was built from 1966 through 1969.   They were built for Oliver, Cockshutt and Minneapolis Moline.   It appears as though there were 10,376 built for the three divisions, with Oliver and Cockshutt getting 99% of the production.   If you are a collector, look for the MM version.   At this time Agriculture was changing, producers wanted larger drills and were going to no-till and using them for planting soybeans which required a big design change.   I am sure the design and patent were not picked up by another manufacturer.

Where were most of the 76 drills sold when new? I have seen only two and I own one. I have never seen a MM either. Are there any aftermarket parts available? Was Canada a big market?
At one time there were at least 4 Oliver dealers in central Wisconsin, but I've never seen one. Older models appear now and again.
