Another dumb question 88

My wet lines don't seem to be getting hard when I shift forward or backward on the pump. Is there something else I need to do , like engage the PTO , or is there another valve or switch that operates the pump .

Thanks in advance --Larry

Hyds are live on those tractor so I would check your fluid level and make sure you have fluid in the system. Should have a cap on the hyds it that has the hyds dip stick on it

Old , between you and J. Scheibert you guys really know your stuff . I found the plugs and also the dip stick/ vent , and it was low on oil . Filled it up and the hyd. work good -- might even couple it up to my wood splitter some day since the engine won't run.

You may want to check the transmission full plug and make sire it is not over full. If it is over full you may have bad shaft seals on the pump and that will cause a problem like you had. My S88 had that problem a few years back and I replaced the seals on it and my 77 has that problem but ti takes a long time for it to over fill the transmission so I just drain it off and pour it back in the hyds and go on using it

I'll check that plug to see if it's over filled . How do you separate the hyd. oil from the 80 - 90 before pouring it back in ?
