I'm in need of a question answered. My dad has a... Well er... That's the question. He bought it as supposedly a 50 deluxe. However as he was screwed by other lies and as more and more orange come through we wanted to check the serial number. He was told that it wasn't eventhe right year to be a deluxe and he actually would rather it be a coop to match his e3. It says 50 on the tub. It the serial number is 1210. Would anyone know what year and make this would be?

Caleb: I am confused. He has a 50 Cockshutt, doesn't he? We can agree that it can't be a Deluxe. This "orange" color does get one messed up.

As mentioned its a 1953 model just like mine # 983 which I'm leaving original...All E-5's will say 50 on the tub...The paint and the grill center piece are the only differences..The choice is yours....E-5's are pretty hard to find..

Gene e5s were only built in 53 with orange paint underneath it could have been an e5 though cockshutt was natorious for using orange primer. Best thing to tell for sure is start sanding off the deluxe paint to see if they painted over the original e5 decal

Plus there were several shades of orange paint that was used at different times, even heard Bill Cockshutt say that the Red that was used on Cockshutts were sometimes a slightly different shade from one paint order to the next. The paint job wasn't a big issue with farmers back in those days.

Do not be upset, with the serial number you gave it is a 1953 so it can not be a deluxe. That said it can be a Cockshutt 50 or a COOP E5, you choice they all came down the same assemble line. Orange primer is used on a lot of tractors. The E5 or 50 is a hard one to find, if it is all there and runs (winner winner chicken diner)
