1655 power steering hoses

i am in the process of restoring a 1974 oliver 1655. i thought i would replace the hoses from the char-lynn motor to the hard piped lines however i am having trouble
locating them. any suggestions will be appreciated.

i agree but they are worn where they have rubbed over the years. i figure it will be easier now with it dis-assembled rather than have one rupture after it's all together and prettier.

Jude our Orilley auto parts store makes hoses if you can get ahold of one of the more experienced workers.

f just the rubber is worn trough turn them bad side up.
Nobody can see them when the hood is on anyway.

Try Maibach tractor 1-800-808-9934 I make hoses and some of them are hard to duplicate do to the custom ends they use.I have remade some and bought some except a few the cost was not worth making them.

All the ends have special bends in them that are not available from most hose repair places. You need to find a Tubes and Hoses franchise and the will reuse your old ends and make new hoses for you.

I think the same way to prevent having to repair something down the road but replacing them may be more trouble that it's worth. The rubber coating is simply worn down to the steel windings or braiding core in the hose and there is actually another rubber layer beneath the core. If you clean up the worn area and cover it with good silicone rubber it will probably last another 40 years. Those hoses are protected from the weather.

I like the way you think allis and I didn't think about the inner core and with a replacement cost of $288.95 + tax and shipping I will be able to buy some more beer to help ease the pain from the $ already invested!!

jude I'm sure the money I spent on beer while working on my '67 1650D has to be close to what I actually spent on parts!

it would be fruitless to keep the fridge plugged in at the shop if it didn't need to keep things in cans cold. besides I do everything better and am much smarter when my blood is a lil thinner from my friend Bud! my wife might disagree but we all know better.
