Hi, Im new to the site. I figured this was the place to come to pick the brains of experienced Oliver owners. I currently have a 1950 Oliver 77. I Just started tractor pulling with it and I am learning the ropes. A few days ago I adjusted the governor spring on the throttle linkage to get more rpm's out of the tractor. I was wondering what is a safe "Full Throttle RPM" for a stock tractor. I adjusted the governor hoping to achieve more power. Tractordata.com shows the tractor was rated for 1600 rpm from the factory. I have heard of other oliver pullers adjusting the governor linkage because its a free and easy way to achieve more power. I did some research and talked to a fellow puller would said that the tractor should be able to handle 2200 rpm's at full throttle. Advise would be appreciated. Thank you.
