OK...I put a gauge in the sending units place..and checked the psi...the spec is 8lbs-14lbs @ 2400 at operating temp...... we have 10 psi.= GOOD...BUT....at idle the trans light comes on...and we have 0 oil psi reading...HELP...Thanks

Sounds like what my 2-105 (red-stripe) was doing a couple years ago. It got so bad that you had to run a least 1500 RPM when you were working it to keep light off. The problem was too much leakage in the transmission. Seals/o-rings were leaking past after 30+ years. Dealer replaced and that solved the problem. Also, looking back at your previous post about oil, I would use 80-90 in the trans/rear-end and not UHTF.

when I took the top cover of the 1800 I found the pipe that carries oil to the front bearing had unscrewed itself. I don't know if an 88 is the same setup.
