White 2-105 hydralic slow over heating

I posted awhile back about my pto dropping out intermittently. I shimmed the priority valve to get the pressure up to 240 PSI and it seemed to help. But now I have more problems. The hydraulics seem slower and as of late the hydraulic temp light came on once and it felt hot. I checked it with a IR gun and saw 165 at the pump housing. I figure the hydraulic pump was shot so I took it off and took it apart to find nothing wrong???? All the pistons look good the cylinder looks good no foreign material inside the pump and nothing in the filter?? Bearings are tight. So now I'm thinking their must be a restriction somewhere in a valve. Any help or input would be really be appreciated. Thank you

I would say you have an internal leak not a restriction. When no hydraulic functions are being used the pump should destroke and go to neutral. Have you checked the pressures at the remote outlets> Maybe your compensator needs to be adjusted.

Here's another 2-105 with the same problem. Owner has been changing parts and is willing to sell it now.

Mr star had a good post about troubleshooting those closed center systems. I guess I still like to start with making a case drain leak down test first and if that is good follow the manual and start blocking stuff off.

I'd like to follow this. Our 1755 is behaving similarly. We think it's a compensator valve issue, but we've got to get some more testing done first.

Just want to see what others suggest for your issue, so I figured this was the best way to make sure I get notified.

If I happen to figure something out on ours, I'll share with you what we did.

Good luck!

I pullet the plug on the side of the pump to see if the shaft was turning to determine if the pump was running all the time. Sure enough it wasn't moving. I turned the compensator valve about a half a turn and then the shaft moved. Looks like it was a simple adjustment I hope.

All right. Have any of you taken a measured leakage test of the pump case drain? If you lowered the compensator pressure to say 2000 PSI so that you can here the pump working with a loop line and a needle valve will the pump stop pumping when you reach 2200. You have a phone number or e-mail? Can you borrow a flow rater?

The high pressure relief valve in the control valve housing below the pump can blow the o ring out on the valve seat or the shims can get beat out that set the relief valve pressure if either happens the relief pressure will be below the compensator pressure and the pump will continue to run because it can never reach the compensator pressure. The relief valve pressure should be set at 2500psi and the compensator at 2200psi if you can get by at 2000psi the system will live longer an have fewer leaks

I got a chance to "test drive" the tractor last. The hydraulics are much faster than they were. Although the pump is running around 190 deg. I also have a 2-85 tractor. The pump on it runs around 150 degrees. I'm not sure what is an acceptable operating temperature for these pumps. The temp light did not come on. At this point I am thinking I have an internal leak. I rechecked the pressure at the remotes -2250. The pressure at the pto valve is 220. I tried to shim it up to 240 but after 2 more shims it didn't change the pressure. If anyone has any input on this I would greatly appreciate it. Thank you

I had the high pressure relief valve out to adjust the pressure at the remotes to 2200 is was at 2500. I did not check to see if the o-ring was blown out though. Ihave not done a leak test....yet. I have ordered the Agco service manual. Could some one tell me how to check the compensator pressure at the valve block specifically which plug or port do I remove to insert a gage???
