550 fuel tank

I recently bought a 550 gas with a loader. Tractor needed a little TLC and now runs well. The main problem is that the tractor sat in a barn for quite some time with an empty fuel tank. Now the sump of the tank is rusted through. I have tried to seal it without any long term success. I have pulled the tank and cleaned the sump to bright white finish. I tried JB Weld and after three weeks, it failed. I pulled the tank and repeated the process using a sealer from the parts store and it failed after a week. I did take the tank to a weld shop to see if they would be willing to try to weld repair the tank. They said that the sump metal is essentially too thin because of the rusting and that they would not attempt to weld on it.
So I am looking for a clean, sound tank. I have not been able to locate one. Any leads would be appreciated. Thanks.

Had the same problem on my 1650.cut out the bottom and replaced it with 10 gauge( I think )steel .had to cut out the fittings and braze them back in the right place.Added a 1 1/2 ell and cap to drain tank if needed.worked just fine check for leaks with water before putting it back on.
