Oliver 1800 C lost Hydraulics

This morning while taking the hay mower off of our Oliver 1800 C we lost hydraulic power. I couldn't lift the mower and the steering became difficult.

I checked the fluid level and topped it off to "full" and replaced the hydraulic fluid filter. Then I removed the caps on the priority valve to check them. I did not remove the spool, I'll have to do that. After that we still didn't have power to lift the hay rake and the steering was hard.

To test it we let the three point drop and it raised, then we tried to lift our rotary hay rake using the remotes and it would not lift it. If I personally lifted up on the rake the hydraulics would reluctantly extend the cylinder. When we let it drop it dropped as normal.

Any thoughts on what went wrong in the hydraulic system? We use this tractor for mowing hay and running our sprayer with hydraulic pump so we need to have a functioning hydraulic system.

Jim mine did that and the hydraulic pump was out-dropped the oil into the bottom compartment. picked up a pump at nnalert. I see some cheeper at other places now. If you do replace the pump you may have to readjust the 3 point linkage. I think I still have the big gasket that goes under the plate the seat sits on. I think I have an It book along with 2 owners books-if I can find them-if you need them. I am located 45 miles south west of Des Moines. Good luck Tom
