Oliver 1365 fuel issue

reaver

I went to use a few weeks ago to rotary cut pasture...made 3 rounds died. I thought fuel filters...I put cleaned out screen in transfer pump and changed both fuel
filters, still nothing...so put in new fuel transfer pump (that I ordered from this site did not have screw on top with screen on it like old one)...after bleeding system
up to fuel filters gave a few wiffs of either and it started...let run for 10 minutes and went back to cutting...made 3 rounds died. I put new rubber fuel line from tank
to fuel transfer pump still nothing. I am starting to think the new fuel transfer pump went bad already?...didn't seem like it did much when you use the hand pump. I
ordered another fuel transfer pump from a different website and I will try that...the only other thing I can think of is I can check the air filter...but I don't think
that is it? Runs good when runs so I don't think it is the injection pump? Gonna need someone smarter than I before long...appreciate your thoughts. Reaver

Is the valve in the bottom of the tank clean? Mine died on me twice the first several months that I had it. The way the fuel cap sits down under that door,it's a magnet for getting crud in the tank when you take the cap off. The second time it happened,I unscrewed it out of the bottom of the tank and blew it out instead of blowing it back up in to the tank.

As RRLund said start at the fuel tank and then proceed to each connection in the fuel section making sure you have plenty of fuel at each one, when you find no fuel you know its between that connection and the last one.

When I put on new fuel line from tank to fuel transfer pump, I let fuel run out line and it seem to have good gravity flow from tank.

You can have flow and then when you are using the tractor something can move around in the
tank and plug it.I'd drain the tank and make sure nothing is in it.Take the fitting out to drain the tank and you'll probably be surprised at what come out.

Also check your return fittings and lines. I think those DPA pumps do the same thing as the Roosa pumps when the return line plugs and the plungers get hydro-locked.

Made 3 rounds died twice ,about the same amount of running time. Had a three wheeler once used to do the same thing.it would stop about in the same place every time we forgot to open the vent on the gas cap!
