oliver crankshaft seal

have a oliver 55 and need to replace the front crankshaft seal.
put in the cork seal several years ago and it always leaked. is there a seal that can be installed between the pulley and the timing cover?

I have installed lip seals in all of my restored tractors.   Remove the pulley and the felt dust piece.   Take a die grinder and remove the projection in the dust felt area, they were there to keep the felt from rotating.   This is where your seal is now installed.  I have used a national 472 482 lip seal.   The pulley will contact the seal housing distorting it, so you need to have the pulley machined for clearance.   Off the top of my head I don't remember how much we removed.   My friend Gary and have carried so many into the machine shop that Milt knows what needs to be done.   Some careful measurement will determine the amount.

Some oil can come through where the pulley is against the timing gear and come through the pulley keyway.   There was a part number for the gasket, however it may no longer be available and you can make one out of gasket material.   I have an original for a pattern.
