From the Oliver archives at the Floyd County Museum in Charles City, IA. This was taken by the plant photographer, Carl Rabe on April 8, 1955 in a series of four to be used in a plant booklet. again we have a Charlie Western 201 at the head of the fleet. The 2nd image shows the page in the booklet and the 3rd the booklet cover.

How would you like the job of driving those things on there sideways like that? I think I'd want a tether on the back to keep me from going over.

Look at the top picture again. Those are 550 tractors not Super 55 models so 1958 or later for that picture. They gave me one of those booklet in 1961 when I toured the factory.

I remember a guy out of Iowa that had a International COE like the first truck, only he had another motor sticking out the front with a radiator and hood on it. He would haul grain into Calumet Il, and steel back to Iowa. One night I met him passing another truck going up hill and the manifold on the V8 was red hot.
