1650 3 point

Finally dug into my 1650 today to find out why the 3 point wouldn't lift. Here are some pictures of the problem. Sure is a lot of work for something so simple. Guess It gives me practice for my 2150 that the 3 point won't go down. I think it's the servo valve on that one.

That valve is the a "shock relief valve". Lets say you are going down a road with a load of some type on the 3 pt. and you run over a badger mound and the 3 pt. bounces and generates a hydraulic pressure spike. without this valve you will have a failure somewhere else.

Original elbow was a casting. Later tractors and parts was changed to a precision steel elbow part number 167 772-A. Don't put a cast one back in!

Mr. Star Did you get my e-mail on what dimensions I need to machine the 1750 PTO clutch too to prevent it dragging? Thanks. J.

hi, that very same thing happened to me. I removed the 3pt cyl, from the main casting, then took air and blew the piston out. c drilled out the hole as much as possible then cut threads (cleaned out the hole) with a 1/4 pipe thread tap. purchased a 1/3 npt. elbow and remounted the blow off valve, this was 15 yrs ago and 3pt. still worke like a charm.
