3 point drifts down

What would cause the three point to drift down on a 1600? If the tractor sits for more than a day it will drift all the way down, if its running it will stay up, but if its running and you hang an implement on it, it will constantly drift down and then pick back up. Is that a sign that the seals are shot in the piston? I have to pull the back of the tractor apart to replace the lower link cross bar seals and I was thinking of fixing the three point while I was at it to if it isnt a big project.

Ya. There's just an o-ring and spacer in the groove in the piston. I had to replace the ones in my 1550 and 1850 both.

You can have leakage in the servo valve at the lowering spool check ball, the cylinder safety valve and the piston seal. Also as good shop practice replace the O-rings between the servo valve and the cylinder

sounds like the seal in the cylinder, but!.....since your in there, go for the gusto! for all the work involved might just as well reseal everything and you won't have to pull it apart again for a long time. be very careful of the Teflon rings on the servo when you go to put new ones on. won't take much to stretch them.
