2-105 quit moving

just signed up and first post will be long sorry. I am in need of some advice. have a 2-105 that quit moving. no bang boom or explosion just quit. shifted out of 2nd to 4th let out clutch tractor barely rocked tried all gears nothing except a slight rock in the lower gears. Was told by local dealer it was clutch, ok I can do that. engine and o/u pulled out split apart clutch worn but intact. o/u spun by electric motor runs all 3 speeds w/120psi in direct and over. was then told to check shifting forks removed front trans plate[what a chore] all looks good. At a loss what to look for next. any help appreciated thanks

Couple of guess's.

1: Sheared shaft downstream from o/u.
2: Sheared internal/external splines, i.e. coupling at o/u & trans.

Something was on the ragged edge of being totally worn out and you finished the job with your up shift which added a lot more torque to the weakened part.

Good luck.

Same thing happened to my 2-135. I disced most of the afternoon, backed the disc up in the edge of the field and unhooked it. I went out across the end of a hay field to a gravel driveway. Got out to the paved road, stopped and waited for traffic, let the pedal up and nothing. Wouldn't move at all. Wouldn't even try to creep. I checked the clutch linkage,over/under linkage, tried low gear, kept shifting the O/U,nothing. We towed it home.
I pulled the motor, the clutch still had some facing on it. Button clutch by the way. The dealer checked it with the micrometer, said it was about at it's limit. I put a new one in and that was it. That was two years ago,it's still fine. I never had a clutch go so quick. Couldn't imagine that one ever would without slipping first.

I had the same thing happen on my 2-135. Thought the center section was ripped out of clutch, but it was worn pretty thin. Replaced with a fiber cluch and built up pressure plate.

same thing happened to my super 99, it was the center of the clutch plate tore out. someone before me put the small 12" clutch in instead of the heavyer 14"

Another unusual thing that can happen is the axle spinning inside the wheel. A friend of mine had the spline on the wheel wear out and not turn with the
axle.

OK time to add a few details. Thanks for all the replies I have checked the coupler and all splines good on both sides. Pulled cover off front trans no apparent damage no cuttings allgears and splines
Are in good shape with no t much wear at all. Tractor has 3700hrs on it. Partially removed PTO housing(heavy) can see bull gears no debris all oil drained except for front trans drain it's stuck. Clutch is worn and was removed without having pressure plate(I forgot). The flywheel has some grooves from wear not bad but the clutch is wore down. No signs of slipping no discolor at all. I'm a few states from home now so l will get the PTO housing fully out and a clutch ordered thanks
