Oliver 60 Questions

I have a couple questions about Oliver 60's. For 60's that did not have a starter, was the starter hole cover cast iron or steel plate? Also, did those 60's still come with lights and a generator?

Thanks for the help!

If you are looking at a 60 with a distributor it would need a battery and a generator it would not need those if it had just a magneto.

I am restoring a 60 right now and rebuilt the magneto today. I am just wondering what would be more correct. Should I put the starter, lights, and generator on it?

You need to look at the relevant parts book. I would think lighting and starter were options from the factory on all the 60s. They were options on 80 standards and 90s with
magneto ignition.

If there is a hole for a starter, then a starter may have been fitted as factory. Electric starter does not necessarily mean factory lighting as well, of course.

The blanking plates on my 80s and 90 were steel plate. Would have to check out my 60s - at least one is hand start only, but I would expect them to be steel.
