1755 O/U Rebuild

I've got the over/under out of my 1755 (it was slipping in direct) - it's got roughly 1/8" play in the input shaft, which I'm guessing isn't good.
This is my first time pulling one apart, and I was wondering if there are any ankle biters I should look for, or any good pointers?
I've got a used one that "ran good when parked", but I'm thinking with all of the labor to get the thing out, I'd be better off to rebuild the one I have
I do have the manual
Thanks
Pete

Pulling it apart is the only way to find out...they ain't rocket science but pay attention to what goes where.
Slippage may be caused by worn friction discs and/or piston seals.
There should be no side to side play on the input shaft.
When you order parts make sure you get the right friction disc, (there was an update on the later ones. thicker discs with more teeth)
You may want to use the other O/U to build one good one between the two(new parts are EXPENSIVE).
Don't cheap out on the seals,..get a new kit from Agco.
Some bearings can be had only from Agco and they think they are made from gold.

FWIW, the O/U input shaft and bearing are probably fine. I don't think the design called for a full/tight interference fit between the outer race of the shaft bearing and the housing. The clutch pilot bearing should support that end and keep it straight when installed.

If u do need a new input shaft don't buy one from a&i unless u don't realy use it hard we had a customer go through 4 of them before he just bought a real agco shaft and he ain't broke it and it's been a few years now also take a good look at the sprag bearing it should spin free one way and lock up the other if it is bad they are super expensive if it's bad I think around $400 through agco other then that they are realy simple inside there is a black thrust washer inside about 11/2 across don't forget to put that in its easy to miss been there done that also when u put the output shaft houseing back on there's a set of holes that u gotta line up otherwise you won't have eather over or under I can't remember witch but I found that out the hard way too if u need any help hit me up and I'll try to get u threw it
