Would a #4 corn picker mount on a Massey Harris 44? I might be looking at a picker and was tooling ideas of getting it home my 77 is in the middle of a rebuild so I can't put it on that and was wondering if I could put it on my buddy's 44 to get it home what do y'all think?

I remember we sold a #4 to put on a 33 M-H. Can you find 3 old steel wheel side rake wheels? We used to move them using 3 of those wheels and a shaft between the them. You will need to fabricate different mounts for the M H. what was the picker mounted on last?

Just working from memory,it'd be a tough conversion with the Massey PTO being so high. Not arguing with John at all,but I wouldn't even want to attempt it. If memory serves me right, the PTO on those pickers didn't even telescope. The geometry of the axle mounts must have been pretty precise for them to balance the way they did on the Oliver axle mounts, much less trying to make one work on a Massey.

You'd be better off to winch it on a trailer unless you can come up with an axle with big wheels like John said.

One thing about that,if you didn't know already, the bracket that mounts on the axle, bolts to the casting that the fenders bolt to,and the rear half partially bolts to that bracket,so you'd have to make something totally from scratch to mount it on and it would have to be strong. Those things are heavy to say the least.
