Dang it Mitch,I was on the wrong page

Those parts I ordered came so I took that 1365 hub off. Wrong parts, wrong page in the parts book. I should have been under "Steering Knuckle".
The number 9 seal had gotten pushed in by a bunch of mud and manure and let the mess in to the number 10 bearing. The rollers didn't fall out,but they were about to. The seal was pretty torn up. I got the rubber part back on the casting in back and got the spring part around it. I greased the bajeebers out of the seal and bearing, cleaned all the crud out of everything and put it back together. It's holding oil for now. I ordered 9,10 and 13. It'll have to work to load feed for a few mornings until those parts get here. It was making more noise when I rolled it around after I put it together than it was before I tore it apart. At least it didn't get in to the planetary gears and ruin those.
The first thing I did before I put it away was to wash the crusted mud and manure out from behind the hub on the other side.

Do you know how that number 11 spacer comes out? I didn't even try. I didn't want to jar the rollers out of that bearing.

Sorry about that Randy, I should have copied that page in here when we were going back and forth the other day.

If I remember correctly, that No 11 spacer was loose once I got the bearing on one side of it pulled from the housing. If your housing is like mine, there really isn't a lip that the No 9 seal seats against, so you gotta be a little careful with it. I can definitely see that if you got a whole bunch of mud or something wedged in there just right, that it could push that seal in.

While we're on this page, you said your king pins are greaseable. Do you have grease fittings on No 2 top and bottom? Mine do not, but I have thought about drilling the casting there and installing one so I could grease them.

Ya,mine has zerks top and bottom. I can see right now that seal is gonna be a pistol to get in. That hub being so heavy will make it even harder. I might have to put it on a floor jack and roll it straight in while being super careful. I'll grease the hack out of it so it slides easier.
I'm just glad there's no real damage in there.

Y, that seal is so big it's flimsy and bends easily. I think I used a fresh pice of 2x8 or 2x10, whichever was the right size so that I was pressing equally on the whole seal at once. The auto parts store variety seal driver kits don't have one that size!

Could you put the hub on your floor jack, put the seal in place, place something large and flat on top of the seal, and then use the jack to push the whole setup upwards into something above it to create a press?

I'm wondering about maybe hanging the hub in a sling and hang it from the cherry picker?
