Super 77 injector pump

Just looking for idea, help.

I've been working on a friends 1955 super 77 diesel tractor just to get it running. He told me he was able to pull start it about two years ago, put some fuel in it and tried to drive it about 4 miles. About half way it quit running and they couldn't get it running again. He dropped it off a my place to look at it and i went through the fuel tank, lines, lift pump, filters and had fuel flowing to the injector pump. I put a couple good batteries in and i didn't have fuel coming out of the injector pump. After some more inspection with the cover off the injector pump, the gear for the plunger wanst turning. Im assuming that there is major damage done to the pump. (I haven't pulled the pump apart yet as i would be getting past what i know)

A local shop i talked to said it would be 600 just in labor to go through the pump plus any parts (if even available). Does anybody have a good pump laying around? Ive tried about 8 different places/people about a replacement and cant find anything.

Any help on this injector pump would be great, thanks!

Maybe not. That gear is driven by the quill shaft which is driven by the cam shaft of the injection pump. Do you feel comfortable removing the injection pump?
