We actually bought this last winter but just got around to hanging it on a tractor a few weeks ago. Dad found a book on Ebay for it that tells us its a model 195 QD Weeder. I forgot to take a picture of it folded up but unfolded it it wide enough that I was taking 6 30inch rows with it. We know that it was bought new in 1949 with an Oliver 66 and spent its life in the sand ground around Berrien Springs MI. Took us a while to figure out what parts went with the dang thing because we got a whole pile of pipe mount parts as well as a set of cultivators and a 2 row pipe mounted planter and we are still trying to sort through what parts go with which implements.

Yep, I know what it is! It's a weeder, my Grandad had one that mounted on the back of his C Allis-Chalmers. Use it when the crops are small and the weeds are just breaking thru, works like a rotary hoe. Chris

Yea, I tried it out a couple weeks ago and you can tell it was designed to use in light ground. It didnt work so well in our clay. However we were messing around on the internet and found a picture of a Farmall Super C with regular cultivators on the front and a fast hitch weeder on the back so maybe thats how guys used them in heavier ground, use the cultivator to break the ground up in between the rows then run the weeder behind to get whats left in the rows.

Ya,I never used one myself, but they were pretty popular around here at one time for some reason.

Some ware I have a 6 foot section of those that I pulled behind an old pull type disc years ago, As I remember it worked pretty good. Dang it, Now I got to find it or its going to drive me nut's figuring out ware it is. Bandit

Thanks for the great photos and history. You have a very nice tractor and implement combo. I have never seen a weeder like this before. I had to save the pix to my Oliver photo collection.

Hey, that looks familiar! Nice looking rig you have there. I have an Oliver weeder. Have had it mounted on my HG crawler and old style 88. Have taken it to some shows , including one of the HPOCA national shows years ago. Will look around my archives and post pictures tonite.
