Make sure it's a universal hydraulic/transmission oil if you go that route. That's what I've got in my 1600 and the 1855 and both are fine with it. 1600 has almost 1000 hours on it since I had it gone through and the side cover replaced with the updated one and still good.

I would agree with Don-WI in using a good universal hydraulic/transmission oil. That is what was recommended for my red-stripe 2-105. I also have a MM G-955 that I used the recommended (when it was built) ATF fluid and the over/under shift lasted 6000 hrs. I did change it every 500 hrs and used Amsoil synthetic ATF for the last 4000 hrs. I am using universal oil in it since the rebuilt.
