We had a customer bring in a White 6175 that is transferring hydraulic oil into the transmission at 1-2 quarts per hour. The service manual does not show where the transfer could be taking place, and I was wondering if anyone here knows where to start looking.Thank you for your help.

If it has a power front axle you can drop the drop box which contains trans. oil and look up at the rear pinion shaft and see if any hyd. oil is leaking thru that seal. also there is a soft plug below and to the side of the pinion shaft that could be leaking. If it has the updated park lock pivot that soft plug will be replaced with a plug and an o-ring with a bolt holding it in place. If it does not have the update I would highly recommend putting it in because if that pivot bolt breaks off it can be very time consuming getting it out and a lot of them broke.

Thank you for your reply.I thought of that, but it only transfers oil when it is running, wheather moving or not.Could the pinion shaft seal be involved if it does not leak when it is shut off, but leak whenever the engine is running?
