2-105 vs. 2-110

I am contemplating moving up and buying another 100 + hp tractor.

What is the take on the 2-105 and 2-110 Whites? I am also considering a G1350 or G1355 MM, but that is not very practical.

The MM would have a tin cab where the White would have a "real cab".

What are the differences between the 2-105 and 2-110.

Unless you really needed the additional HP the Whites will be so much more comfortable versus the MM's.

One difference, they all have a 354 Perkins, BUT early 2-105 tractors have the dot one engine yet and later 2-105 and he 2-110 models have a dot 4 engine. There are differences in the cabs as ell. I was gone before the later 2-105 tractors were introduced.

How do I know which engine I'm looking at?

Is one engine better then another?

Also they must have the same rearend?

Is one tractor really "better" then the other?

Will the 105 hp white do what a G1000 or G1050 will. I need something with more ponies then my G900?

hey joe pro theres an 1870 white on the sale pages its got an 585 diesel in it that more power than your g-900 take a look

If your used to a moline you wont like the lack of
lugging power a Perkins has verses the moline.
You'll use a lot more throttle to accomplish the same
task but all things considered ive never heard any
real complaints about a 2-105.

The early 2-105's (1975- maybe 76) with the Dot 1 engines will have a narrow frame around the engine, the later models will have a wider frame. Mine is a 1975 model, been rode hard put away wet all its life kinda semi retired to blade and loader, and 15 ft brush cutter for mowing road banks on a corn and bean farm. Bought it new in Feb of 1975, on its 4th set of 18.4X38's now, if I hadn't liked it, I wouldn't still own it.

The 2-110 had a cab like the series 3 2-135 shifter and throttle and o/u lever on a console at your right side and the park brake lever is moved up to the console. The 2-110 cab is much quieter and solider than the 2-105. Other than the shifter the trans and hyd. are pretty much the same as a 2-105. The dot 4 engine does not have the lifter valley covers on the side of the block thus fewer places for an oil leak . The dot 4 engine has two oil filters. It has better head cooling especially around the ex. ports keeping the rocker cover area cooler so it is easier to keep the gasket from leaking. For not much difference in money I would take the 2-110 over a 2-105.

Agree with 2 stroke dd below, but I bought a 105. Why? Half the price and ten times as many to choose from. Check out tractorhouse.com.
There are (24) 105s, with an average price of about $9k. There are (2) 110s, only one priced at $18k. It would be nice to have some of the
more modern features, but I got a low hour 105 in decent shape for $7k. And I need to wear hearing protection in the cab... No big deal. In a
perfect world, I'd have held out for a 120... But there is only 1 of those on tractorhouse, and it's nearly $40k!

Dad just replaced his 2wd 2-110 with a 4wd and is looking to sell his 2-110 if you are interested. He's near KC, so it would be a bit of a drive, but he'd let you test drive it mowing hay all you want to make sure you were happy with its operation! Here are some pics.
