Oliver 77 how to replace rear main seal?

Can I replace the rear main seal in my 77 Oliver by just pulling the flywheel? I have it apart to replace the clutch and pressure plate. I guess there is a new one that is better from 1650.

Yes it is right in front of the flywheel. You probably get a new style from Maibach tractor. Chuck

Thanks Chuck I have been going to do this for about 8 yrs. guess it's time. I won't be any closer.

I wouldn't be suprised if the newer style seal and retainer is the same price as the original style seal you have. Those cork seals work just fine, but they are very pricey. I think the last time I priced one they were around $120 at the dealer near me.

Oops, meant to say that I wouldn't be surprised if the newer style seal and holder is the same price or cheaper than just the old style seal itself.
