What do you need to remove to get a disc brake 88 nf under 5000, all wheels are cast centres and I want to leave it that way. Thanks

Gordey, No fluid in the tires should do it. I pulled my brothers 88 diesel in the 5000lb. class years ago and a pulling hitch was all we changed. Chuck

Gordey, I just was thinking about it and that was along time ago that I pulled that 88 and I'm not sure if I pulled the 5000 or the 7000lb. class, can't you weigh it somewhere? Sorry, Chuck

It's just a pain for me to weigh it, I know it will be right around 5000 I used to pull it at 6000 and plan on stripping it down some. Thanks

I had an 88 diesel band brake with no hydraulics and no belt pulley in 5000. It had cast centers all around. My guess would be that you will have to pull the hydros and belt pulley to make 5000 with a 200lb driver.

I agree with others. My 1958 Super 88 diesel with stock hitch, hyd, pto and cast front and rear and 200lb driver weighed 5200-5300#. If you want to keep the hyd and pto, one way is find some cast rear centers off a 66 or a 77 part#L705B. These look just like your current K705B centers but weigh approx 200lbs each less.

I'm thinking with heavy hubs (would put light ones on but that's more work than I want to do today), no hyd or pto, belt pulley will stay on, I should just make 5000, this is a gas job also.
