Still working my way through issues with this thing. J Swiebert is a great help but he's gone for a few says so I'm venturing out on my own a bit.
I've pulled the injectors and will take them in for an evaluation but they look like crap so I'm sure they will need something. My question is on
the energy cells. I pulled those also, at least the parts I could get. I pulled the holder plug and the spacer along with the energy cell cap. I have
not been able to get any of the energy cell body's out yet. But my question is about the cell cap. Looking at the picture in my IT manual the
pointed part of the cell cap faces toward the plug. Mine were all pointed the other way. So is the picture correct? I'm thinking yes as the
instructions for removal are correct if it was in the right way. So I think a previous repair was done incorrectly. It my no be my hole problem but I
may be creeping up on it.

Sounds like the caps were installed wrong. Best to re-lap the caps before putting them back in, and the cell ends too if you can get them out since there is no gasket used for sealing..

If you can't/don't want to remove the cells, make sure the inlet passage is clean so that the main stream of fuel can get into the cells.

Energy cells are all cleaned up and reinstalled--the correct way I hope! I could not get the inside piece out so left them alone. Took the injectors in to the shop. Should have them back about the middle of next week. He checked them while I was there and at least 3 of them were not working well at all and the others were marginal. So having those all rebuilt should make a difference--I hope. With those being done I have replace virtually the entire fuel system so if it still smokes and has no power it shouldn't be a fuel issue. Lets hope for the best....
