Super 88 Standard Diesel

Hello all. I am looking at an Oliver Super 88 Standard Diesel with all standard wheatland tin and fender extensions. No power steering, has a belt pulley. Engine needs a transfer pump, as someone has plumbed in an electric fuel pump. Tires aren't the greatest. Sheet metal isn't to bad of shape, however the muffler hole has been hacked up like most of them. The rims are green, not red.

I am wondering what a fair price would be on this tractor. I know it's hard to say without pictures, or hearing it run, but I have read that Super 88 Standards are somewhat uncommon.

Thanks

There are two different versions of the Super 88 tractors, early and late.   Early tractors have the flanged rear axle, meaning non-adjustable rear tread with 26" wheels & tires.   Late have the same rear axle as a Row Crop, adjustable rear tread w/38" rear tires, called Standard Row Crop tractors.   Front axle is cast with wheel flanges for the wheels on early (could have a fabricated axle that was a change-over), late has a pressed axle with drop spindles.

Early tractors will have green wheels, 1957 have red wheels.   1957 will have the large battery door that goes over the hood sides in the rear of the hood, key start, tachometer and OLIVER stamped into the fenders.   Either version are not too common as production was low.   They were used in the western states and western provinces of Canada in the small grain growing areas.

The one I am looking at would be the earlier one I guess. It looks like this one, only still in it work cloths with the wheatland dust shields and the pre-cleaner stack that goes through the hood in front of the muffler.
