I read once someone had a solution to bypass the hydraulic circulating pump at the front of the engine on a 55 series by using the hydraulic system. Can someone give me the link or contact information?

O. K. I don't understand that thinking at all! In theory when you are not using the hydraulic system the pump pumps no fluid since it is closed center system. I don't think case drain leakage would be the way to go.

That small belt driven pump circulates oil through the cooler in front of the radiator, then returns it to the reservoir under the seat.   Cooling is important in the system.   Any air that is accumulated in the system rises to the top of the filter.   One of it's main purpose is to draw a small amount of oil and any accumulated air off the top of the filter.

I sure wouldn't consider removing the pump.   The original pump had a bushing to support the drive shaft.   It don't take much to run the pump, operators tended to over tighten the drive belt.
