Went over to a friend's place that collects MM he had acquired the books from a
MM/Oliver/White ex-dealer that had saved his manuals. He kept the MM stuff I traded for the White and Oliver manuals.About 15 big binders full of books, service memo updates and all sorts of manuals plus a bunch of White manuals. In Oliver its looks like so far
4 digit series and up and then the earlier White tractors. Also looks like a complete set of dealers manuals for the Fiat built Olivers.

Jim: An FYI for you. As the 1800 series tractors were updated so were the parts books. You need parts book form number 433 009. This book was issued in 1965. The same with the shop manual. I have one and my employer has one. They did not come out with all the sections at the same time. So both of these manuals have the same sections in them. Make sure you are getting what you want.

The most interesting one so far is the binder that has various letters or updates on service and mechanical issues from a guy in Charles City, D.L. Williams to the branch managers.Like the one dated May 15,1967 discussing the problem they'd been having with
1850D engines pourous blocks.Engine oil was entering the cooling system thru the block and it was corrected at serial number 185 078.
At the top of the page there is a hand written note from S.R.Pratt "Please don't
discuss this with dealers, but use it for your own information".

Right now I'm going to try to find time to go thru all of the books and see just what I
have so I'll decide after that to see if I keep them or get rid of some.Really probably
keep them all for the time being.I have a lot of Oliver manuals already so I'm sure some will be duplicates but I like these as they are in the original Oliver binders.

Interesting: We had one of those as well. It was a lot later than that! It had an over-under + the late style intake manifold.

The binders alone if they are not too shop worn are worth at least $40.

Most companies provided confidential information to it's employees like less frequent problems.   Oliver called them Plant Service Letters.   Changes to the product were included in the letter, thus when a field rep. was questioned about any change he had the information.
