Early gas 1550 hood

I bought a new hood and need to cut a hole for the off-set muffler hole. On my hood there is no way to know where it was as the hole is the size of a two gallon bucket. Could someone measure from front of hood and left side top ridge to approx. center of muffler hole? Mine is an early 1550 gas with the one piece side panels.

I have a 1550 diesel Utility that I looked every ware for the under the hood muffler that was on it new. I ended up using an under the hood muffler for an 88 Oliver diesel and adapted it to fit under my hood. My hood had been cut back to use a regular above hood muffler so it's kind of butch up a little. Does your manifold look like this? They have a large ID pipe with a small whole in it. I can look on mine and measure my hood if you want, Just let me know. Bandit

Thanks Bandit. Yea, I followed your post on re-doing the muffler, that is what I want to do. Some measurements would be great if you can. Thanks.

Thanks RP. That helps. Do you have a side measurement from left side of hood at the top curve?

I will post them tomorrow when I get back from the farm. I cant remember what size adapters I bought for the top and bottom but I did cut the bottom muffler pipe off and part of the adapter off and welded them together and did the same on the top. So far I really like this muffler and pipe on the tractor and haven't had any problems with it yet. It is quieter than the above the hood muffler and it dose give it a different look that's for sure. Hears a few pictures. Bandit
