Fuel Pump Mystery

I noticed my 1650 has an electric fuel pump, but I don't think it was actually hooked up to the battery or alt when I ran it last month (the former owner had some interesting wiring ideas). Was that even possible? The tank sits well above the fuel line and injector pump, so fuel was being gravity fed?

Your Roosa Master injection pump has a transfer pump built into the end of the pump. Back in the early 60's when Oliver changed from Bosch to Roosa Master none had a mechanical or electric fuel pump. Your 1650 would have had a mechanic A-C type pump on it to supply fuel to the injection pump.
