Oliver 1800 oil pressure

I have 1800 B gas with low oil pressure. 15-20 once the oil is warm, 5 psi at idle. Haven't changed the filter that's next but new gauge, New sending unit. This is a new to me tractor only put 12 hours on it last year. Could my oil pump be shot? Checked the relief valve spring gave that a little pull push everything seams good there. Any advise? Is there a known problem with this oil system?

Also I have a good pump from a 1800 A gas would fit?

Thanks

Before going and ripping it all apart I
would get a proven accurate manual gauge
and put it in place of the sending unit.
Sometimes the sender or gauge are
incorrect and nothing is wrong with the

I'm wondering about it having a sending unit originally. All of my four digits are wet gauges I think? Was the 1800 different than the 1600?

How many hours on that engine?
A worn oil pump or mains and rod shells will cause lower oil pressure the warmer the oil gets.
However, 20-25 PSI hot is plenty pressure for a gas job.

Correction. The 1600 has an idiot light not a gauge. The rest of mine are wet gauges though.

Check out the pressure relief valve properly - giving the spring a little pull push will not cure any leak-by. 'Seems good' does not mean it is good.

Oil grade, age and possible dilution may all be issues, as too your idle speed setting.

It is an 1800 A and I have a full gauge cluster in it Plus a pressure gauge to monitor the 2 speed. I am going to get a new wet gauge and plum it in directly and compare. Oil only has 12 hours on it. I just don't want this thing to fail. Tonights task change the filter and run it.

Thanks.

If I remember correctly the 1961, 1800A gasser that dad bought new had idiot lights for oil pressure and amp gauges, but that got changed as
there were knockout plugs on the dash for these gauges, I think a 30 or 40 psi oil gauge worked good on the mechanical gauge.

I hace a Super 88 diesel with the same symptons as yours . It runs real good with lots of power , so I'm also
puzzled ?

OK,that's right, the three digits had an electric cluster gauge didn't they? When did they go back to a wet gauge then, the 1800C or the 50 series?
