Did anyone takeover Minn-Kota Repair? I bought rubber torsion springs for my 880 seat from them 10 years ago and they are still holding up well. The original owners of Minn-Kota retired and reportedly sold the business. I googled and could not find them.
I rebuilt a 550 seat last year and torsion spring recently went bad. I did it again today and it lasted less than an hour. These were from Korves and the rubber tabs sheared off both times.
I have had good luck with Korves on the torsion springs for my old 88 and S77. I rebuilt the seats on them three years ago and they are holding.
I have bought a lot of other items from Korves and have had no problems. But I am disappointed in the torsion springs for the 550. Does anyone know of a source of bulletproof rubber torsion springs? You would think in this space age there would be better products than those 50 years ago!
Thanks.
