Brought home a "new" 1655 Today. After a couple hours of cleaning I'm getting around finding and fixing some issues. The one that has me stumped is the 3pt won't go up or down. It' stuck about half way. You can raise the arms by and and they fall right back down but they won't go up or down with the lever.
The previous owner had a loader on it and the 3pt arms removed. He removed the loader and I put the arms back on. I didn't get a manual and my shop manuals are for the 1755 and up. Any ideas on where to start looking?
Thanks!

Down by your right heel when you're sitting on it,there's a fine thread bolt that takes a 3/4 inch wrench. There's a thin lock nut on it. Loosen that, turn the lock nut out and see if the bolt will screw in any farther.
That bolt goes up against a ball and pushes it in to a seat. That ball has to be over the hole and have it closed up for the 3pt to work.

I was able to get about 1 turn on the bolt before it got real tight. Didn't seem to make a difference. I don't know when it was serviced last but they hydraulics seem to be a little noisy like a valve being bypassed? I'm assuming the filter is right between your legs? It was getting pretty warm after a 5 minute ride.

Ya,that's where the filter is. There's a bypass right on the 3pt cylinder that's just held by a quarter inch street elbow. If that breaks off it won't raise, but I don't know if that would stop it from going down,or if it should have dropped like a rock if that broke off. Somebody will know.

Hadn't thought of that. That would sure explain the heat and the sound.

Don't run it until you find out,you could blow something to pieces without the oil passing through a bypass.

Definitely don't want that to happen! Which plugs do I need to look at to see? On the left side their are some allen plugs that look like they may have been out.
My other computer has some pictures of the loader mounted on the tractor. I will have to see if I can tell how it was plumbed

OK,
So off a post from 2004 it looks like the top allen plug "inlet port" is the one that will have the 1/4" plug behind it for the power beyond setup? I'm assuming it was, my flash drive had a few pictures but none of them show anything on the remotes. And the picture of the loader and joystick weren't helpful.

Somewhere I have a picture of it,but I can't find it right now. But yes,it's right under the seat on the left side and goes straight back in toward the rear of the tractor, not in to the side of the housing. Three eights plug I think, square recessed fitting if it's the original plug. Take that out and there might be a quarter inch plug back in there two or three inches that takes an allen wrench to get out. Take that plug out back in there if there is one and put the outside plug back in.

Found some pictures in the archives. The plug you're looking for is just under the left seat rail, next to the front seat frame bracket. It faces forward and looks like it is 1/2 inch plug. The bypass plug will be behind it if it's there.

Thanks for all the help guys! The plug was still in on the inside of the inlet port. I now have motion of the 3pt and what seems to be good hydraulic flow (haven't connected to check, hoses jump).
The issue I have now is the bottom of the 3pt arms don't go down any lower than the top of the draw bar. Only about 2" of threads are showing on the adjustment so I'm hoping once I get them loosened up it will get a bit lower. I've seen some that about drag on the ground, are their any more adjustments?
