picked up a few more for the collection past couple weeks. The 280 spreader a co-worker spotted in his neighbors grove. The floor is gone and the gearbox is in pieces but the price was just about perfect. The 438 mower-conditioner was another craigslist find. It needs some TLC and a few new parts in the wobble drive for the sickle. Some people think I have an addiction. I like to call it an obsession with preserving our farming heritage. haha

Nathan, wasn't the mower made by Owatonna? There is one in the weeds near here that looks like it. They sold a Oliver spreader a couple weeks ago at auction for close to $300 with no beater or chain. Seldom see a spreader that old with any decent metal left. I already hit the like button on the other site. Greg
 
not really sure who made the mower. And yes I was surprised as well by how good the metal was on the 280. One of these days I gotta get around to putting the gearbox back together and see if I have all the pieces.
 
I've got that same spreader in red and yellow. Was built by Shultz I think by the lit. I have. Always thought it was the same as the oliver 280. Just had never seen one. I have a hand full of NOS parts that I believe are for pitman drive for an Oliver haybine. If you have part numbers or a pic., I will look to see what I have. FYI the 129 was built by owattonna, the 437 and 428 I believe were built by oliver.

here are the part numbers from my parts catalog of pieces I need/could use

These parts aren't needed but should be replaced
521 673-E pitman
519 878-E plate - bearing Inner
501 684-E bearing
501 685-E Collar

These parts are needed and are different then what was on the mower so I'm not sure if the box shows old style and the mower had the updated version or vice versa.
521 852-ES Drag Link - Includes 521 951-E bushing
521 737-E Pin - Drag Link
1156510 Clamp - Drag link
9130370-9 Bushing - Rubber
