Oliver 77 Brake Adjustment

Can anyone walk me through how to adjust the brakes on an Oliver 77 Row Crop? It was my uncle's who passed away so I am trying to learn. The right brake works really
well, but the left just seems like there is nothing there when you go to press the pedal.

Any help or pics would be much appreciated!

Thank you

Nick

There should be a bolt strait down next to the cover that is connected to the linkage. Tighten it and it will pull it tighter.

It may be frozen though, so it might do some good to take it apart and put it back together.

First of all we need to know if you have band or disk brakes. IF you have band brakes we need to know if you have style one or style 2. Look down till you find the picture of the 88 that was on the auction. I f your brakes are like that the procedure is different than for the other two. Questions? J.

Dad had a '53 77 like that. It had been used for a lot plowing, holding the left brake to keep the land wheel from slipping wears the left brake more than the right. It needed new brake discs on the left side. It was probably an easy fix, but he traded it off without fixing it.

Thank you for the reply. I am not sure which type it is. I have not really worked on this tractor and right now it is 120 miles away. =( I do not have a pic of the tractor either.. I know I am not being much help here. If you have time would you be able to let me know both procedures? That would be much appreciated. If not I understand.

Thanks

Nick

I try to buy owners and shop manuals for any equipment I have or work on. They are not very expensive and are worth many times what they cost. I usually keep new manuals by the throne for a while and kill two birds with one stone.
