Posts several days ago concerning the engine speed and ground speed indicators on the above tractors.   There are two groups of those tractors, early and late production.   Wiring is different between them   2-88 serial number break is @ 302 591 & 2-110 is @ 302 446.   There are two operators manuals for the 2-110, 2-88 had a supplement for the original manual.   Do you have the correct manual?   The late Op manual will show the serial number break on the cover while you need the supplement for the late 2-88.

Lets start there and I will try to help you although it has been a long time since I worked with them.

Thanks for the info. I'll check my serial number and post it here. My manual with the wiring diagram is very close, maybe one or two wire difference and that may be the issue ...

What doesn't make sense is this....
The green sensor wire runs from the toggle switch to the sensor up front at crank pulley.
From the tach, a darker green wire goes from signal terminal on tach and splits to an unused plug for digital tach then down to the circuit board for the alarm lights in dash below, but when plugged in there per the wiring diagram it's picking up 12 volts feeding the signal with that which i did not think was correct.
So you have the 3 small gauge wires off back of tach running down to toggle, The pickup sensor running to toggle and an additional yellow/ Blk stripe wire runing to toggle (unsure what that wire is at this point).

At tach you have your ground wires, the signal terminal, and incoming 12v power.

any of the above sound incorrect ? I can post pictures. Also how does the tach pickup ground speed ? Is there another sensor at transmission ? Thank you
