Ok, most of the snow has melted, & I can start fooling with my 1550 Cockshutt/Oliver again as time permits. It has a front end loader with bucket on it. the hydraulics are hooked up to the rear where implements usually hook up & I use the levers by the seat to operate the loader. I also added a power steering to it. I took the hydraulics for the steering from the hose that went to the rad. it comes from the left side of the seat& it went to the rad,, Everything works BUT, when I turn my steering either way it has a noticeable effect on the engine. It slows the RPM considerably.. but it doesn't end there. When I lift the loader up, or the bucket, it has the same effect, slows the motor/rpm down , almost kills it same as steering.. If I speed the engine up it's better, but still not right. I pull the choke out & it recovers again. otherwise the motor would die..
The other issue is it must warm up quite a bit before I pull out, or work the loader, because if I start it & run it only for a short time, put it in gear it wants to die, so I pull the choke & the engine recovers.. It looks like I have 2 problems, hydraulics, & gas..
