Gas or Diesel? (Super 55 or 550)

I've been looking for a small utility tractor, and I stumbled across the super 55 and 550 series. I don't know much about Oliver since most farmers I know are JD fans. For the super 55 and 550 tractors would you recommend the gas or diesel engines? Just curious which would be considered "better" for these tractors. I know the gas is usually easier to start and easier to work on so I'm leaning towards gas, but I like the idea of having a diesel.

I have a Super 55 gas. It is very good on fuel when mowing. Diesel would be better on fuel, but higher initial cost and higher
maintenance. On a gas, Napa can get all tune up and carb parts. Gas is easier to live with for occasional use like I do.

I'll second that. We've had two Super 55 gassers and one diesel. I still have a gas. There wasn't a thing in the world wrong with the diesel, but for occasional light use,at the age those tractors are now especially, the gas is just simpler to own and maintain.
