2 piece wrist pin bushings

Working on a 2-70 engine. It has 2 pc. wrist pin bushings, however they are still in good shape, with clearances well within spec. I have heard so much on here about how critical it is too update to 1 pc. bushings that I am hesitant to leave as is? What do you guys think? Is this all that important on a 283 diesel?

Go the one piece. Those 2 piece bushings have had there problems> Also need to know what your piston height is in relation to the deck height. Thanks. J.

i took a engine apart that had 3 of 6 rods that bushings that were loose in them was only holding on one side, replace them,

John: I am not at the farm till tomorrow night. (Tuesday) I have engine apart, but crank is sitting in bottom half of bearings so no big deal, I will stick a liner and piston assembly back in to get you deck height from top of piston. I assume you need this for a unrelated issue?

If it were me, I would go ahead with having the rods resized and rebushed (solid bushings). I would then purchase new rod bolts for the installation. This is a small price to pay for mitigating the risk of having problems with one of the most highly stressed components in your engine...
