Oliver Super 55 three point lift adjustment

My early super 55 came out of the barn for some mowing (yes it's already bushoggin time here in north Arizona). I can't seem to get the 3 point lift to operate correctly. With a 5' mower installed, there's only 1/2 inch of travel on the lift control between fully UP and fully DOWN.
The draft control lever is in the rear position (facing the rear). I changed the filter and the hydraulic oil, but no change. Is there some other adjustment I have overlooked?
What I hope to have is a wider range of settings with the control lever.

2 Basic hydraulic systems on a Super 55. Need to know tractor serial number and where your hydraulic filter is located. J.

I do not have a serial number tag, however the casting numbers indicate an early 1955 model. The single spring seat and short PTO engagement arm lend support that the tractor is indeed early 1955 production.
The hydraulic oil filter is located on left side, under the seat. It is in a horizontal position and takes a canister-type filter element.
I hope this helps. Thank you.

(quoted from post at 01:05:01 04/02/15) The unit will need to come off to make the adjustments. Do you have a shop manual/
Yes I have a shop manual. Out of town at the moment returning Monday - will have a look. Don't mind pulling the unit if that's what it will take. Thanks.
