Cockshutt 20 questions

A local farm sale will be having a Cockshutt 20 on it. It looks to be all there with 3pt, pto and belt pulley. Pretty straight tin but one junk rim and the tires are black and round. It runs well and has good oil pressure. What would you estimate it,s value? The engine has F140 29109 on its plate. Is this the correct engine? Where do I find the ser number of the tractor? Thanks

I don't have a 20 but have E3s and E4. The Continental is the correct engine. Earlier engines were smaller, 126 I think. Easier to find parts than the Budas on the larger tractors and almost the same HP as the 30. Three point is a plus but I can't help you on the value.

I personally think the 20's are the hardest to find and the most sought after of all the Cockshutts. The main reason I don't have one is price. I have a 30 a 35 and a 570 diesel but haven't found a 20 that I am willing to pay the price for.Probably $3500.00 from what I have seen. Nice ones are going for $5500.00 and more.

the prices have come down on these, like everything else over the last few years but they are starting to come back. A good running 20 with straight sheet metal should go for around the $3000-3500 range. The early tractors had an f124 continental then they changed to the f140. These are my favorite Cockshutt tractors, they are easy to haul and store. I think we have somewhere around 30 20s in our family. I guess you could say we are 20 nuts.

I see in our local paper there is going to be a 20 on an auction as well in a week. Where are you located? This sales is in Northwest Ohio. If you are referring to a different sale on a later date you can the site and see what is brought.
