Oliver 77 Engine Hook Question

What is this loop on the block for? Also has the engine been changed? Model number says 77D but it is a spark ignition engine.

The hook is for the brace rod on a front mount
pipe cultivator, maybe others

The D doesn't stand for diesel.

   Huskergreen has you covered on the loop.   The number you posted "77D" is the code for the powertrain, thus has nothing to do with the engine,   It should have a C- in front of 77.   77 is the tractor model and "D" is the version of the powertrain letters "A" through "G" were used to differentiate models ( row crop, standard or industrial ).
